Parks Victoria required an identity design for a large scale landscape connectivity project - Habitat 141°. Habitat 141° is an initiative of multiple alliance members that aims to conserve the environmental, natural, cultural, economic and social assets of a region that runs along the 141st meridian of longitude which straddles the South Australian and Victorian border in the south and extends into New South Wales - from ocean to outback.
We created a visual identity that focused on and brought to life Habitat 141's key concepts of connectivity, stepping stones, pathways, diversity and linking of communities. The northern angular shapes represent the arid environment while the southern circular shapes the aquatic environment with a smooth transition made in between.
The identity will be used to help raise awareness of the project and gain government and investor support as well as to identify the region.
