BMW's co-creation processes

At their iconic headquarters in Germany, some of the world's most advanced processes are brought together to involve consumers in their process.

In this article a few of the principles that drive co-creation are described, which, are all not that "cutting edge" but rather tap into the common sense about human beings: When people are curious and engaged, most of them will want to contribute to an idea or a solution. That works better with a diversity of minds and, that works well when there is a very well managed platform for engagement.

This platform allows people to exchange thoughts efficiently, build on ideas rather then just answer questions and to get to know each other. That means that at a certain moment you know why people are saying what they are saying because you know "where they come from", adding a significant benefit vs. for instance focus groups.

The good news, pardon the advertising, the platform is now available in Melbourne, and you don't have to be BMW Head Quarters to afford it.
